CARE is dedicated to creating a community where individuals in substance use recovery are met with compassion, understanding, and support. By addressing the stigma surrounding substance use recovery as we did in our campaign with Interact for Health, CARE empowers individuals to seek help, embrace their recovery journey, and thrive in their personal and professional lives.
The CARE Stigma Workgroup's monthly meeting is every third Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital from 2:30 to 3:30pm. To join, please email caredearborn@gmail.com.
Reducing Stigma & Raising Awareness of Recovery

CARE understands that access to reliable transportation can be a significant barrier for individuals seeking recovery resources. To address this challenge, CARE has implemented a transportation assistance program designed to connect individuals with the support they need to succeed in their recovery journey.

The CARE Employment Workgroup is dedicated to improving awareness and access to employment resources for individuals in recovery, as well as equipping employers with the tools they need to support a recovery-ready workforce. This includes connecting individuals to job readiness programs and supportive services, while also helping employers navigate topics like federal bonding programs and best practices for fostering inclusive, supportive workplaces.
In 2024, the CARE Employment Workgroup partnered with the Indiana Region 9 Workforce Board and WorkOne Southeast to host the CARE Employment Symposium at the Lawrenceburg Event Center. The event brought together local employers to address the impact of the substance use crisis on the workforce and explore practical strategies for supporting employees in recovery. Topics included drug-free workplace policies, federal bonding programs, and stories of recovery—equipping attendees with the tools to create recovery-informed, resilient workplaces.
The CARE Employment Workgroup's virtual monthly meeting is on every second Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Zoom. To join, please email caredearborn@gmail.com.

CARE is committed to ensuring individuals in recovery have access to safe, supportive, and stable housing. Through its initiative to increase local recovery housing, CARE works to address the critical need for more recovery-friendly living environments in our community. Through our support, we have helped the launch of three new Oxford Houses in Dearborn County.

The Youth Workgroup is conducting an environmental scan to identify existing resources available to children in our area and to pinpoint critical service gaps. This effort aims to prioritize and guide the development of new supports that address the most urgent, unmet needs of our community’s youth.
The CARE Youth Workgroup's virtual monthly meeting is every third Thursday on Zoom from 11:00am to noon. To join, please email caredearborn@gmail.com.
